National Pingtung University (NPTU) is a unique university integrating higher education, teacher education, and vocational education.

With expanded employment opportunities globally in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, the program of STEM education plays an essential role in higher education, helping undergraduate and graduate students to access and engage in STEM learning. Thus, the International College offers a special International Master Program in STEM Education to help international students to pave the way in attaining a STEM education M. S. degree. This program offers professional interdisciplinary STEM knowledge and a variety of opportunities in multidisciplinary co-operation research fields. It is expected to help graduate students get well prepared for the STEM fields workforce in education and nurture their competitiveness.

The mission and main objectives of this program as below: 

1. To nurture global educators or researchers in STEM.
2. To nurture global creators of education products in STEM
3. To support formal and informal education staffs in the field of STEM, e.g., narrators of science and technology museum, K-12 STEM teachers, etc.
